Adding SESIR from Referral
Anytime a referral is entered with a state defined SESIR code, you will get an alert on the right side of the screen that will prohibit you from saving until you enter a SESIR Incident form.
If the student you entered the referral for was the only student involved or the first student you have entered for the applicable incident, you can use the default tab Add New. However, if more than one student is associated with the incident and the SESIR has already been entered for it, you should use Link.
Only one SESIR incident should be entered EVEN if multiple students are involved.
Whenever you are entering a new incident, most fields should automatically populate from the corresponding fields that were entered on the referral. There may be some additional fields that must be entered for the Incident. Required fields that are not defaulted will highlight in red and show in a running list on the right side of the screen.
Adding SESIR Alone
In some cases, it is necessary to record an incident that occurred without associating it to a specific student referral. For example, when vandalism or a bomb threat occurs on campus and the culprits are unknown. To add a SESIR without a referral navigate to Discipline > Add a Discipline Incident. In this case all fields will need to be filled in as they will not be automatically populated from a referral. A list of required fields that are not defaulted will highlight in red as well as show in a running list on the right side of the screen.
